Comprised of 14 dedicated active members, we are excited to serve the northernmost region of the great state of New Jersey, encompassing Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties.

As one of the newest chapters within the fraternity, our mission is clear: to cultivate awareness, provide outreach, and foster positive change within the underserved areas of our community. Through our collective efforts, we aim to uplift those in need, while advocating for meaningful societal impact.

Education lies at the heart of our endeavors. We are committed to informing the broader community about the invaluable contributions and transformative initiatives spearheaded by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. From community service projects to mentorship programs, we seek to inspire others to join us in our pursuit of excellence.

  • On May 17, 2025 Kappa Nu Nu will be hosting the first 10K Walk to raise funds for research to benefit the underserved 10% of people living with Cystic Fibrosis.  Please join us as we will walk in the name of CF to raise awareness for this genetic disease that affects so many people.  African Americans and Asian Americans represent the 10% of the population of those newborns diagnosed at birth with this genetic disease.

  • Here are three key points about the impact of cystic fibrosis (CF) on the 10% of the population, particularly Black and Asian Americans, living with this genetic disease:

Underdiagnosis and Late Diagnosis: Black and Asian Americans with CF often experience delayed or missed diagnoses due to the misconception that CF primarily affects white populations. This can result in poorer health outcomes and delayed access to specialized care and treatment.

Genetic Variability: CF in Black and Asian populations may present with less common genetic mutations that are not routinely screened for in standard CF tests, making it harder to identify and treat effectively. This variability complicates the diagnosis and management of the disease in these groups.

Health Disparities in Treatment: Black and Asian Americans with CF may face barriers to accessing high-quality care, including disparities in healthcare access, socioeconomic factors, and underrepresentation in clinical trials, leading to gaps in treatment options and outcomes compared to white patients.

    Key Statistics surrounding CF:

    White Newborns:  1 in 2,500 to 3,500
African American Newborns:  1 in 17,000
    Asian Americans:  1 in 31,000
